2020 FACE of Nepal wraps up on a high note

FACE of Nepal 2020 with EDGC, a regional modeling contest before this year’s FACE of ASIA finals in Seoul, has chosen three talented models.

The event was held at the Crowne Plaza Kathmandu-Soaltee in Nepal.

Three models were selected ― Smriti Nepal (female), Bibek Khadka (male) and Nafisha Shrestha (female). They will compete against winners from more than 20 Asian countries in the FACE of ASIA finals in Seoul.

FACE of ASIA, the largest model-hunt platform in Asia, is part of the 15th Asia Model Festival (AMF) to be held in Seoul in June.

The contest was co-hosted by Nembang Suhang, chairperson of FACE of Nepal, and Asia Model Festival Organizing Committee (AMFOC) Chairman Yang Eui-sig. Sponsors include the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, The Korea Times, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

The event was attended by high-ranking government officials including Subas Chandra Nembang, former chairman of Constituent Assembly of Nepal; Basanta Nembang, Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport; Thakur Prasad Gyawali, Inspector General of Nepal Police, and former Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Agni Kharel.

“I hope the 2020 FACE of Nepal would facilitate more cultural exchanges in the beauty and fashion industry between Korea and Nepal,” said Yang.
“And with the support from the government of Nepal, I feel like the festival will become much more successful in the coming years.”

Twenty-five countries ― Korea, China, Japan, Mongolia, the Philippines, India, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Nepal, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Macau, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh and Taiwan ― will compete at the Asia Model Festival.
