2021 ‘FACE of Korea’ model contest to kick off
The “2021 Asia Model Festival FACE of Korea” modeling competition is set to be held March 4 at the Hotel Eliana in Seoul.
FACE of Korea ― a local contest that leads up to Asia’s largest model hunt platform, FACE of Asia, is the first step toward a big opportunity for aspiring young Korean models to begin their career in the global modeling and fashion industry.
Online applications for Korean models are open until 6 p.m Jan. 17.
Applicants are required to upload their photos and video profiles ― a short introduction video with the hashtag #faceofkorea2021 ― on their Instagram accounts.
Posts should include the applicant’s name, height and age in the video’s title or description. Private accounts cannot be used for applications.
After posting the required photos and videos on their personal Instagram accounts, models can complete the application by sending their Instagram links, photos and contact information to the official FACE of Asia email.
Regarding qualifications, applicants should be aged between 17 and 30. For male models, the required height is 180 centimeters or above, while the minimum for woman is 168 centimeters.
Models who make their way to the FACE of Asia finals will be given the chance to take part in the Seoul Collection, China Fashion Week, Asia Open Collection and the Asia Model Awards.
FACE of Asia is the first event of the Asia Model Festival, an annual event in search of Asia’s next top models and build cultural ties among Asian countries in the fields of fashion and beauty.
This year’s contest is jointly held by the Asia Model Festival Organizing Committee and Korean Model Association, sponsored by The Korea Times, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Models from 27 Asian countries ― including Korea, China, Japan, Mongolia, the Philippines and India ― will compete for the 2021 FACE of Asia title.
